General Information
Organizational Narrative:
The Office of Local Government provides educational outreach, technical assistance, applied research, and information and referral services to city and county governments, local organizations, the county Extension network and citizens throughout Kansas. These services relate to three broad and interconnected program areas: local and regional economic development practice and policy, local public service organization and finance, and natural resource management and land use planning.
Provider Background
Education K-State Research & Extension is a full-service provider of educational outreach activities for all phases of WRAPS projects. Services include outreach campaigns for targeted audiences, public/stakeholder involvement activities, and general awareness and education initiatives.
Facilitation Resources K-State Research & Extension is a full-service provider of facilitation & coordination services for all phases of WRAPS projects. Services include facilitation & coordination of local leadership teams, technical advisory committees, and stakeholder involvement activities/events.
Mapping K-State Research & Extension is a full-service provider of watershed mapping assistance for all types of WRAPS projects, ranging from basic watershed maps to more sophisticated GIS analyses.
Watershed Modeling K-State Research & Extension is a full-service provider of watershed modeling assistance for WRAPS Assessment projects, ranging from basic modeling such as STEPL to more sophisticated models such as SWAT.

K-State Research & Extension is the state’s leading service provider of economic analysis for WRAPS projects. Services include cost-benefit analysis of individual BMPs, cost-benefit analysis of BMP strategies (combination of BMPs), and customized tools for agricultural producers to evaluate the benefits of various BMPs.
