DESCRIPTION:Join KC Farm School at Gibbs Road for Farm Fest at Common Ground 2026—a free\, family-friendly celebration of local food\, farming\, the environment and the power of community. \nFarm Fest brings people together at KC Farm School’s urban farm in Wyandotte County for an afternoon of hands-on learning\, food and fun. This year’s event will also serve as a host site for the Kaw Valley Farm Tour. \nActivities will include: \n• Guided farm tours departing every 45 minutes\n• A free community meal featuring gluten-free pizza\n• Hands-on workshops and educational activities\n• Community resource organizations\n• The Farm Fest Makers and Growers Market\n• Live entertainment\, games and children’s activities\n• Opportunities to learn about local food\, farms\, soil and conservation \nVisitors are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle\, dress for the weather and wear comfortable\, closed-toe shoes. Admission and the community meal are free\, but visitors may wish to bring money to purchase produce\, baked goods\, arts and crafts from market vendors. \nFarm Fest is a block-party-style event\, and South 42nd Street will be closed between Common Ground and Gibbs Road Farm. Nearby parking and shuttle transportation will be available. Please do not park at Gibbs Road Farm.
