DESCRIPTION:The Butler County Conservation District is hosting an Urban Agriculture Workshop for nontraditional agricultural producers and individuals interested in turning smaller-acreage properties into successful agricultural businesses. \nWorkshop topics will include: \n• Conservation practices\n• Cover crops\n• Rangeland management\n• Financial management\n• Local food systems\n• Additional resources for small-acreage producers \nThe workshop will be held in the 5000 Building’s Kanza Room at Butler Community College in Andover. Participants should use the east side of the building near the student union entrance. \nThe workshop is free\, and lunch will be provided. SUMMARY:Mycorrhizal Fungi Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Save the date for a Mycorrhizal Fungi Workshop hosted by the Cheney Lake Watershed on Thursday\, December 3\, 2026. \nThe workshop will feature Endy Lopes Kailer\, a Ph.D. candidate in Agronomy and Soil Science at Kansas State University. Endy’s research focuses on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and their role in improving soil health\, soil aggregation\, and carbon storage. \nDuring this workshop\, Endy will share what she has learned from several years of testing soils across Kansas and studying the beneficial fungi living below the soil surface. \nFarmers\, landowners\, conservation professionals\, and anyone interested in soil biology and soil health are encouraged to attend for a day of learning. \nAdditional information\, including the workshop location\, schedule\, and registration details\, will be announced soon.
